Poison Spyder Rear Stinger Tire Carrier
— FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE —
POISON SPYDER REAR STINGER TIRE CARRIER
EVB: Extreme Vehicle Builders is now carring the Poison Spyder Rear Stinger Tire Carrier is the ultimate rear bumper for hard core rock crawling.
The Rear Stinger is a fold-down spare tire carrier. By pulling the two upper pins, the tire carrier can swing down, making loading and unloading of huge off-road tires easier. Simply roll the tire up into the carrier, secure it with the provided 3-Way Spare Tire Strap, then swing the carrier back up and pin it in place.

The Stinger is fabricated from NC-bent DOM tubing and CNC laser-cut 3/16” plate steel. The integrated skid plate helps the Jeep slide off of ledges and obstacles without hanging up on the spare tire. It also incorporates a license plate mount located in the center of the carrier. The spare tire mounts securely into the carrier using a heavy duty, adjustable 3-Way Spare Tire Strap.
The Upper Corner Mounts are designed to work with Poison Spyder Crusher Corners™ (may also fit other manufacturers’ 3/16” thick corner guards). They are fabricated from CNC laser cut and precision brake-formed 3/16” plate steel and include a convenient CB antenna mount. The Tire Carrier is secured to the Upper Corner Mounts using urethane bushings and easy-to-remove hitch pins.
The Lower Mounting Plate replaces the Jeep’s existing bumper to provide the greatest departure angle possible. The Lower Mount Plate has two sets of heavy duty bushing tabs, where the Tire Carrier attaches using urethane bushings and Grade 8 hardware. The plate also features two integrated, CNC machined 1” thick heavy duty recovery shackle tabs designed to accept 3/4” recovery shackles (sold separately). The Lower Mount Plate attaches to the Jeep with countersunk flat-head stainless steel hardware.
“The Rear Stinger is light weight, high clearance, easy to use and provides a measure of rear-flop protection,” says Poison Spyder’s Larry McRae, “It’s designed for those who spend a lot of time in the big rocks and need a tire carrier that meets the challenges of hard core four wheeling.”
The Poison Spyder Rear Stinger Tire Carrier is available now for Jeep TJ &LJ, coming soon for CJ, YJ and JK. It can be orderd as a complete kit for these Jeep models, or without the Lower Mount Plate, for those who would like to adapt it to a different rear bumper.

Jeep Debuts 2011 Model Campers
We choose on this fine afternoon to think of Jeep's newest models (there are two available campers) as much a natural extension of its brand promise as a winter-coat company deciding to also offer winter gloves. And, with the Patriot and Compass models already on the market, there's plenty of precedent for Jeep offering models with no engines (BAM!).
Anyway, for $9,995 you could drive away with an 850-pound 49.5-inch high camper that can sleep up to four and, riding on 32-inch BF Goodrich Mud Terrain tires, has 12 inches of ground clearance.
Not "X-treme" enough for you? Then sir, you should step up to the Jeep Extreme Trail Edition Camper. This version is a little heavier (at 1,050) and wears bigger 35-in Mud Terrain tires for 15 inches of ground clearance. It has a more stout frame than the standard model, a full-underbody skid plate and black diamond-plate aluminum fenders.
Both use tubular-aluminum construction (no fiberboard!), are available in silver, black, red, green and "Mango Tango Pearl," and, because this is Mopar, are offered with a host of accessories. And since both use Jeep's 17-inch Wrangler aluminum wheels, the spare tire for most Jeeps you'd be using to tow the thing will fit the trailer. That's clever, although it will make for some expensive trailer tire/wheel replacements.
